SSOT Portal
I designed a 0->1 centralized portal for Walmart to replace fragmented third-party tools with a single source of truth for enterprise data & processes.
DISCLAIMER: Product name & screen content have been changed to aliases for confidentiality purposes.
The Problem
The High Cost of Fragmented Tooling
Prior to the SSOT (Single Source of Truth) Portal, Walmart’s financial data was scattered across a vendor-SaaS tool, legacy internal engines, and manual communication lines. This fragmentation created three core pillars of mistrust:
Redundant Tooling
Users operated across multiple systems with overlapping functions, making it impossible to identify which platform held the actual truth.
Coordination Overhead
Because systems weren't properly integrated, users were forced to navigate separate tools to initiate and complete data-change requests.
Data Location Confusion
Fragmented tools hindered both retail and corporate employees from accessing necessary data, leading to significant operational delays.
The Solution
Centralizing Governance: A Single Source of Truth
SSOT unifies all data repositories & their request-to-approval functions into a single portal.
Consolidated Data Source
Unified all data views into a single portal where corporate and retail data can be found.
Enhanced Governance Visibility
Built real-time request status tracking to eliminate the need for manual approval tracking via email.
Powerful Audit & Validation
Implemented features to validate input to catch incorrect values at the source, ensuring data integrity before edit submissions.
The Outcome
Impact by the Numbers
We captured UX KPIs from Figma prototypes & defined projected business outcomes.
📈 Usability Metrics
I utilized Figma prototyping to conduct hi-fi usability testing with 11 users including 3 approver, 4 requestor, & 4 viewer personas.

Quotes
This saves me from my 'billion tab' window problem. It should be the first thing I open every morning.
— Requestor, Walmart
(SSOT Portal) will finally give us a site we can trust. I'm excited for users to do less emailing & find what they need themselves.
